can't believe this story of him with the Leafs has caught some wind. In my mind, he will be lacing skates with Tampa for many more years to come. They have a very good thing going on right now, and Y would not let it get past him.

There is no contract that a team could offer him - that Tampa Bay wouldn't match. He might get to RFA status, but he's not going anywhere.

I wouldn't even be surprised if Stamkos took a small team discount like Crosby and other players have done to free up some money for their teams to help build a winner. Obviously if an offer sheet is made, then Tampa Bay would have to match it in order to keep him and they would not be able to work out some sort of discount.
