    Did i get hosed!?

    hi everyone, i was on ebay a couple days ago and came across a Yao Ming auto. the seller must have not known how to spell yao and he spelled it YOA. anyways i bid on the item with 6 days left and after 5 days had gone by i was still the high bidder. about an hour ago the seller canceled my bid and ended the item! can he do this!? would you leave negative feedback?

    If you never won the auction you can not leave feedback. If there was an error in his auction he has the right to end the auction early. It is frowned upon but not against the rules. Say you won the item and he was trying to cancel the transaction than you can leave negative feedback. If you feel like you have been hurt by this, you can always report him and move on.

    Ethically this is not the best business practice.....his only saving grace, as pointed out, is that he did have an error.

    If the error didn't exist, i agree whole-heartedly, sellers should not be able to cancel because their auction isn't going well. That's the idea of the free market. The seller takes the risk that if they put a 100 bv card up that it may only fetch 99 cents.

    Is it against the rules of eBay?......No......so unfortunately you are out of luck......that is why I only use eBay on occasion. Good Luck in future auctions!
