New Member! MLB All-Star Game Questions
I heard alot of good stuff about this website so i had to see myself! Im a new member and I am planning on attending all the MLB All Star activities in phoenix this summer. I have never been to an all star game so i have no clue on what to expect. I like to get cards signed but that might be hard on all star weekend.... Show many balls should i take? and where is the best place to get autographs at Chase Field? any info would be helpful.
Thank You!!!

Never did an allstar game, but go prepared- think of each and every player on the given teams and think of "if this person comes over, what will I have them sign." Make sure you have someone for each.
I think the all star festivities are pretty laid back from what I have heard in the past, but the game itself might be tough. Hard to predict who else might be there besides those participating in terms of old players, etc.
Welcome to these boards and good luck! My success thread is always open if you have any questions, comments or want to see some (what I think are) awesome successes that I've been having lately!

-hotel was GREAT this past year in Anaheim! Some notables were Wright and Ubaldo
-closer to the AS game, print photos of those most likely to make it and pick up cards of most of those guys
-prepare to be over-prepared
-bring lots of white sheets and blank balls, because you'll likely run into quite a few players, like I was staying at the same hotel as most AS fanfest guests. I met Ozzie Smith among others...
-find out about other AS events; there was an AS 5K that I attended and Reggie Jackson was there!
-FanFest is a mess and the names don't seem worth it this year:

-AS Workout Day/HR Derby is actually pretty tough, but some do sign
-Futures Game is great; tickets are cheap, game is fun, more than 3/4 of the players signed down the line AND THEN SWITCHED TO THE OTHER ONE TOO! getting the program or team ball by those guys is goodLast edited by SMVintage; 06-02-2011 at 01:53 AM. Reason: language

When the all-star game was in New York, I had a blast! I got abunch of guys during fanfest. Biggest names were probably Jose Reyes and Dick Williams. During the parade I got Ryan Braun and Chipper Jones. I threw my ball to their cars and they signed them. (yes I made sure they were willing to catch them first)

Cards or photos, its really a personal preference. For photos, I buy my 8x10s here or at Costco

11x14s at Costco
16x20s from Adorama
