not a rookie and might be homer but i think a lot of people would agree, niklas kronwall
in lidstrom/rafalski's shadow, but the guy hits (possibly best in league), scores, PP, SH, and is clutch to say the least

I think people started to realize what a talent Grabner was towards the end of the season, escpecially when New York played an NBC game. He got nationwide exposure there. Everyone repeat after me: "What the heck was Florida thinking!"
While I don't like every aspect of his game, Brad Marchand has really impressed me throughout the playoffs. He was so inconspicuous during the regular season, I was not even aware he was a rookie. They talked about him as if he were some journeyman player who had been floating around the league fpr years.
My vote would be - Brad MarchandLast edited by Drewk86a; 06-11-2011 at 11:19 AM.

Cal O'Reilly... until he broke his ankle and wasn't seen again.
I really hope he hasn't walked away from the sport, I haven't heard/seen anything about him since he broke his ankle. He was very missed by the Preds, he was having a great season until then.

I'd throw Patrice Bergeron and Ryan Kesler in there.

Jannik Hansen because he is shadowed by Torres big hits and lapierre stupid antics. He is also very fast, Top 3 on penalty killing on the team and one of the best forecheckers. His rookie season is 07-08
Chris Tanev because when he does get a shot to play he plays calm,he makes great decisions, and he isnt afraid to shoot he wants the puck. He also see's the ice really well. I see him being one of our best D-man in a couple years. His rookie season is 10-11

I would also say Grabs, or Tyler myers..the guy is 80 inches(6'8) and skates well, but those are my guys so I am biased.
