New Guy
Well hello! I'm Josh, and I'm somewhat of a card collector. I happened to find this site through Google when I was searching through information on cards.
I've been card collecting pretty much since I knew how to buy things (really when I was around 3-4, so I have a lot of 1997-2004 Hockey Cards) but my card collecting has taken somewhat of a backseat within the last few years. My forte really is Video Games, and I am a video game collector with an account on RacketBoy, if anyone is familiar with the site.
Lately I've been looking through my old books that I've had and decided to get back into collecting cards. I've been sorting through, trying to get rid of doubles, and mainly have come here just to: One; See the value of what multiples I have to get some extra coin to feed my gaming addiction, and Two; To see buyer's guides on cards if they're available so when I'm on the hunt for classic games at Yard Sales, I can work on finding cards and know what's rare and what's not rare.
A lot of the cards I have are Baseball cards from the early 90's, Football cards from around the same time period, and Hockey cards from wherever I can get. I mainly collect for hockey though, and I'm a huge fan of the Tampa Bay Lightning. (Congrats to the Boston Bruins by the way) Also can't wait to score some Atlanta Thrashers cards now that they're heading for Winnipeg. (I only have two ATL cards, Heatley and Kovalchuk. I have more Jets cards than I have Thrashers cards, kind of funny.) I also have a few WWE cards from 05/06, and Yu-Gi-Oh cards from when they first hit America in 03, to around the time GX was around and cards started coming out for it. Could never get into 5D's really, so I never tried, but if I find them for cheap I go for it.
Of course, I haven't collected cards as a hobby for a number of years (I'm 16 now) so I need to really get back into the hobby, figuring out how to sort my cards really. Back when I was younger I used to just throw my cards in binders with pages as I got them but now I realize you can sort them by teams, sets, years, brands, and there are so many cards it's kind of overwhelming as a relative outsider. It's shockingly deep, really.
An abnormally long introduction, but I feel like I covered about everything I needed to. Sorry for the wall of text!

Welcome to SCF Josh.
First off, may seem a bit odd, but I must commend you on your use of the English language. Far too often do I see young people looking like complete idiots in their posting with horrible grammar, internet acronyms, no punctuation, etc. That is a great introductory post. Now back to business. Unfortunately cards from the early 90's were so mass produced and readily available that they are worth very little today. Unless you have some key RC's or autographs I wouldn't expect to make a much off of them. You may want to check out our video game forum too. You may find someone who has something you need there. Enjoy your time here at SCF and if you have any questions about the site feel free to contact me or another staff member. We'll be happy to help you out.

Well thank you very much! Yeah a lot of younger people tend to use chat-speak way too much. I've always been rather anal about my grammar and it irks me to see others my age foregoing what they've been taught since birth. But that's another topic for another day. Thank you for the info on the cards. I don't believe I have too many rookies (I think the only ones of prominence may be Mats Sundin, Jaromir Jagr, and I think I have a Jeremy Roenick or even Patrick Roy somewhere in the pile, I'll have to take a look.) but I'll get into putting all of the hockey cards into the inventory here when I get a spare chance. Also, thank you for your advice in the video game section, I'll be sure to check it out!
Thank you to everyone else as well for welcome messages.
