Wow, my comment got killed haha.
In all seriousness though, I believe I got a little caught up in the moment. I was so bent on Daniel to win because of various, non-game related reasons : his brother won last year, compensation for the Cup loss, he's a Canuck. But yes, Perry did have quite an impact on his team -- moreso than Sedin or St. Louis.
I also kind of misunderstood "Most Valuable Player". I have a habit of thinking it of "Most Outstanding Player", causing me to simply look at the stats and scorelines. The word valuable, however, is referring to the player's value in his respective team-- a basic fact that I overlooked. In fact, if it was MOP, Crosby could have had a shot haha.
Oh well, glad that Lidstrom won another.

Well all I can say is Luongo might be on suicide watch after this. And did anyone see how CHOKED Daniel Sedin was after the Hart announcement?

The band with that OMG song was absolutely atrocious.............

At the person who was irritated that Perry won MVP...who was more valuable to their team than him? St. Louis had Stamkos, and Lecavalier, plus the other talent that developed. Sedin had his brother, plus Kesler, Burrows, and Luongo. Perry had to carry a majority of the load at different times due to injuries

Absolutely well said. I was very happy when they announced Perry's name. Of the three players nominated he was the only one that TRULY deserved to be there based on the criteria of the Hart Trophy. You can easily make the argument that neither Daniel Sedin nor Martin St. Louis are the most valuable players on their team. That being the case, how could they possibly be considered in the top three players in the NHL that fit the statement? At least a plurality of voters still understand the definition of the Hart Trophy and that's why I'm glad that it was Perry...from that group.

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

I didn't watch this year, but I checked twitter to see the winners. I'm usually more interested to see how the votes turned out instead of the winners:
    http://ca.sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/...urn=nhl-wp7746

A few things that jumped at me:

    1. How close the Norris voting was. Both Lidstrom and Weber had great seasons, and Weber was just one first place vote away from taking home his first trophy.

    2. I'm shocked by how far the margin was between Alain Vigneault and Barry Trotz for coach of the year. I thought Trotz was going to be a close second to Bylsma for sure, not have half the points of Vigneault.

    3. Looking at the ends of each lists just shows how many voters are serious homers... ie. Stamkos' first place vote for the Lady Byng

    4. Are Brian Campbell and Jason Pominville actually "gentlemanly players", or are they just soft?

    5. Jack Capuano had a Jack Adams vote.

I also like to see the numbers as it can be pretty revealing of just how out to lunch some people are.

The Lidstrom-Weber race was definitely a lot closer than I expected, and I mean that in a positive way. It just goes to show that people are starting to take notice of the former Rockets' d-man and just how awesome he really is. Too bad about the two Penguins beat writers giving Letang their vote instead of a more deserving fella.

I don't know how anybody could vote for Jacques Martin as Coach of the Year. It doesn't take a genius to tell Carey Price to stop everything that gets thrown at him.

Neat that the top 6 Calder votes happened to formulate the All-Rookie Team.

Leading all goalies in wins while playing on the 22nd ranked offensive team just doesn't go as far as it used to.
