2011-12 Los Angeles Kings: Cup Contender
Without a doubt!
Got a new player to chase in the Purple, Silver and Black!
LA, right now IS a Stanley Cup contender. Holy smokes, Kopitar and Richards as our top two centers?
A stacked D with Doughty, Johnson, Greene, Scuderi, Michell, etc?
Jon Quick in goal backed up by Bernier?
Wait until we get real greedy and add a winger or two.
Wow....................
Discuss your thoughts on this year's LA Kings as the lineup stands now.
I can only imagine what else is coming with Smytty wanting out and DL having more Cap room......we'll need a winger to replace Simmonds and then maybe Smyth..........smiling ear to ear baby!

Wow! Richards is such agreat pick up. Congrats!
Flyers fans have got to be sickened. I know they expected Carter to go but... wow.

Maybe Doughty is gone....having trouble signing him, they went for the next best thing...Mike Richards. I would not be surprised.
Cup contender? We will have to see....

Definitely a banner day for the Kings. Losing Schenn is no doubt unpleasant but to get a player of the calibre of a Mike Richards (personal feelings aside LOL) is certainly going to be a major boost for them. Doughty's an RFA correct? Any word on what he'll end up signing for?

LA is now my new 2nd favorite team! Lucky you guys...I had heard a rumor last week about Richards going instead of Carter and I was dreaming of Richards in copper & blue.

Lose Doughty? Absurd. That's the green-eyed monster talking brother!
If anything, he'll be on board BIG time now. You need to be strong down the middle to win a Cup, you think Doughty wants to bounce with Kopitar and Richards as you 1A and 1 B guys?
Plus, LA isn't done. They're likely going to get younger and better if they ship Smytty out and upgrade the wings.
Plus they are still looking at the "other" Richards in Brad and if that is a no go there is a rumor Paul Stastny might be headed to Tinseltown.

Doughty and his agent are in negotiations as we speak with LA.
As far as Schenn, # 1 prospect or not, he was a PROSPECT compared to....Mike Richards.
So LA just traded some with the potential to be like Mike Richards for..........MIKE RICHARDS!
