This surprised me a little (especially having just resigned)but happy with the trade overall....

well it was like Doug Wilson said they already have 6 top-6 forwards in Marleau, Thornton, Clowe, Pavelski, Couture and Heatley. The big glaring need was that after Douglas Murray and Dan Boyle the skill level at defense dropped off some because of age (either getting up there in age or just too green)

This is a trade that works great for both teams, the Wild get a young player capable of scoring goals and the Sharks get a much needed defenceman (one of the better ones they could have got)
