    help getting returns

i am not having much luck in getting anything back 0/10. not even reply's, over 3 month span.

    1. Is this normal?
    2. Are there certain phrases i should avoid in letters?
    3. Is there an etticut?

any help would be much appreciated to us newbies.

    thanks,

Who did you send too? Are you sending SASE?

    #1 always be polite.
Are you sending to folks who have a good history of signing their mail? Are you asking the person to sign in a letter or just sending cards in an envelope without asking? Are you also sending an envelope with your address on it and postage on the envelope for the player to mail back?

I went through 6-8 weeks from January to March where I got nothing back and I sent out 25+ requests during that span. Slumps are normal so be patient. Just make sure you are sending a SASE and saying please, etc.

Also, who did you send to? If your list looks like Michael Jordan, Derek Jeter, Emmit Smith, that might be the problem.

An envelope addressed to you with correct postage. See, after they sign your item, they would put that item in the SASE, seal it, and send it back to you...

"An SASE is a SELF-ADDRESSES STAMPED ENVELOPE, and is basically the same as and SAE, but with proper postage put on. From my own experience I know that you can vastly increase your success rate by paying for the return postage. If you are mailing within your own country you can use standard stamps, but if you are mailing overseas you must use IRC's (International Reply Coupons)"

I must ask...how did you discover ttm, find which athletes sign, and find working addresses and never come across HOW to do it?

SASE is like rule #2 after "Be polite". There are ttm guides all over the internet- from broad based to item specific. I suggest reading a few of these. They will get you going in the right direction and help you in crafting requests and finding more people to send to.

Also another rule of thumb if the guy (or gal) for that matter is a jerk in person more than likely they are not going to do any ttm. This would seem rather obvious but I have read stories on other websites where people are celebrating ttm "successes" from people who never sign for you if your life depended on it.

You sure you don't mean this site and Vlad Guerrero?
