Taking a break from the message boards.
It's funny to me as I type this, that I wonder if this is the feeling that current collectors get when they say they feel burnt out from the hobby and feel like selling their collection that they worked so diligently to put together.
I feel like I need to take a break from posting on message boards. I think my views have become so entrenched in the 90's Michael Jordan market that I don't know how to debate my points properly.
With the most recent Jordan threads and the hectic ebay/scamming threads that popped up (which have been fascinating reads, I think - even though they are still unresolved) I feel like I'm arguing the same points all across several message boards.
My views don't seem to change and neither do the views of my opposition. It is becoming too warped for me to continue and I think we're getting to the point of arguing just to argue a point, without addressing how to collectively correct anything that is wrong.
SO.. I'm going to lay low and still frequent the boards, but keep my thoughts to myself or just address people through PMs. For people who I have ever debated with, I hope you guys haven't taken anything I've ever said personal. To me you guys are just names on a message board.
I'm still fascinated and will follow the ebay Jordan market and I hope I am right with what I think it is, instead of what it isn't.
Have fun collecting and talking cards/sports!
MIKE
