Free Agent Frenzy - New PC Guys For You?
Lots of guys changing addresses today, and still lots more to come. Are there any guys that have come to your favourite team that you'll be collecting now?
I'll likely do the usual grab an RC/Auto/GU of Cole & Budaj. Both have pretty nice signatures so that's a plus. Budaj's obviously not going to be the major piece of the puzzle that the Habs are expecting from Cole (I think he'll be on a line with Plekanec & Cammalleri to start the year) so may not get too much. Cole, though, I could grab some stuff of his like I do with Gionta.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Well the only guy the Lightning have signed is Garon so far (I think). Dont think ill get any of his stuff though.

Ville Leino, I started a mini PC of him while back because I loved him. Now he is on my fav. team its a must.

I'm thinking Voracek b/c I did like him even though he was on Columbus, hes pretty young and hes not overly expensive.

I'll be picking up at least an auto of both Carter and Wiz...those guys are gonna be key for the Jackets.
On a side note, if anyone needs my Voracek autograph (08/09 BAP), I'd be more than willing to swap it for something of Carter or Wiz!

In light of Brian Burke and the Leafs activity today, I guess I'm leaving the hobby rather than starting a new PC

I haven't really had a player to collect since Rob Blake retired mostly because Blake has really had nothing to chase outside of a sprinkle of ITG issues in Ultimate.
I have picked up Kyle Clifford cards here and there this year but it hasn't been as exciting a chase as I thought it might be when I decided to start a PC of him. Besides, I have ended up putting them all in Austin's PC since that's one of his "buddies".
But then the hockey Gods saw how I was stymied in boredom and smiled upon me by bringing Mike Richards to LA.
I know it wasn't via free agency but nonetheless I think I found a player to start collecting. He is signed through the better part of the decade, is still fairly young and seems to have a good assortment of sets they put him in.
It'll actually be a lot of fun since he and Kopitar are the top two pivots for the Kings. Austin has his centerman and now I have mine.
Pretty excited for the Mike Richards Kings cards to start hitting!

I'm going to be doing the RC / Auto / GU of all 5 new Oilers (at least what's available). I'll be looking to add some kind of "pictured as an Oiler" card down the road too. Not going to go too wild though (will attempt to do this with as few cards as possible.... already picked up Cup APRs of Eagr & Barker)
