Tricky eBay question.
So I purchased a couple large ticket cards back at the beginning of June.
They still have not arrived given the strike and the lag in the current mail. Both sellers have perfect feedback in excess of 1000 each.
I sent both of them messages explaining my situation, that being my paypal protection ends after 30 days and if the package does not arrive within the 30 days then I will have to open a paypal claim to limit my liability.
One was understanding while the other was not. The strange thing is neither have tracking numbers despite one being worth $200 and one over $400.
Would you open the paypal claim despite both have perfect feedback?
Advice appreciated.
Thanks.

I would do what I needed to to protect myself. I don't think you're doing anything wrong.

I agree. Do what you need to protect yourself.

Ya, I don't think I have a choice. If I had tracking numbers I might not file a claim but with the Canada Post strike you never know how many "lost" packages you might get. At least the seller would be able to file a claim if Canada Post loses the package.

yeah so just open a case, and paypal will wait on it :
You open the case no later than 45 calendar days from the date of your PayPal payment and – if you need to – escalate it to a claim no more than 20 calendar days after you open your case.

Worst case, protest yourself. If the cards arrive re-send the payment. Make yourself known to the seller as a descent person and they should understand. But it seems that Paypal will probably have you covered with the additional time in coverage.
