I think Sakic would be the best bet to get in first try, but there are certainly some great names on that list

Sakic and Shanahan are absolute locks to be in next year. Joseph makes a really good case too.... I'd think that Sundin was the most accomplished of the rest of the first time eligible guys, but who knows?

For the past over guys, I'll put them into three categories:

    Should get in, eventually
    Dave Andreychuk
    Pavel Bure
    Alex Mogilny

    Might get in, eventually
    Eric Lindros
    Ron Hextall
    Mike Vernon
    Adam Oates

    No Chance
    Trevor Linden
    Derian Hatcher
    John Leclair
    Brent Sutter
    Steve Thomas
    Rick Tochet

If I were voting, I'd elect either of those top three guys over Sundin.

None of this means anything though (as far as 2012 goes) becuase we all know that your stats can improve over 15 years of retirement, and then they'll put you in

Roberts? I don't know. He never hit either of the 1000 point or 500 goal milestones.... and has 1 Stanley Cup. (Yes, he missed a lot of time with injury). Tough for me to see him getting in..... but you never know? I'd love to see a former Moncton Golden Flames teammate of his get in (one with only 240 career wins, but a Stanley Cup, and Conn Smythe trophy) but I'm not holding my breath for that ;)
