Just because they did the time....
Just wanted to hear people's thoughts on a certain subject...This was brought up after a certain C bag got away with murder the other day.
Just because they got away with it or did the time should they still be treated diffrently?
Recent sport figures for example:
Kobe- All signs showed that he did indeed rape that chick BUT still considered a god in the basketball world.
Plaxico- All he did was shoot himself and didnt have the permit and went away for a year??? People have done worse and have gotten less come on now
Vick- I love my dog and previous dogs when I was growing up BUT he did his time for the crime and now showing the world what he was ment to do. EXCEPT a lot of people think he shouldnt be able to play (NOT NIKE since they just resigned him) Is that fair?
Just throwing in something else that kinda bothers me since im a solider...Anyone ever hear of Westboro Baptist Church??? Yeah those wack jobs going out and protesting funerals of dead soliders and so forth...who in there right mind would think thats the right thing to do??? I think everyone of them should be sent to the border and kicked out of America....
ok now your turn :)

You forgot politicians. They get away with everything, especially republicans. Democrates are full of Boehners and Weiners.

Kobe... at best he cheated on his wife. However, his "god" status was up ion the air for awhile. He had to work at building his rep back up. A lot of that simply had to do with him being great at basketball and winning, but he has stayed out of trouble since this incident, whatever actually happened. I'm not sure why the woman ended up not pursuing charges, but does make you wonder if he did what she said or not. We'll never know.
Plaxico paid a huge price in my opinion. You can play woulda/coulda all day, but the bottom line is he didn't hurt anyone else besides himself. I feel a year was too much but they wanted to send a message. People like to say that famous people get off easy because they are famous but sometimes they get the worst punishments because they are in the public eye and prosecutors and judges know potential offenders are watching. That and they know potential constituents are also watching. I hope Plax gets back on a team and starts right back where he left off before getting locked up. Hopefully he got rid of all of his guns and won't carry them around in running pants waste bands.
What vick did was terrible, but I feel he paid the price and feel he actually grew from it. you can tell from his interviews as well as how he plays. I think it matured him a lot from the looks of things so far. He also seemed to have gotten a worse sentence due to his celebrity. Criminals should be able to work if an employer is willing to hire them. Athletes are different than most regular people because they have a skill that people always pay for.
yes, the westboro baptists are idiots and if I were religious I would hate the bad name that they give religion as a whole... let alone baptists. they are some of the sickest human beings alive and the complete worst of what religion has to offer our society.
