Take it easy on the guy. I'm pretty sure he was just kidding.

I never though I'd ever her someone say that?

You obviously aren't educated at a college level.

That is one of the silliest statements I have ever heard. Absurd.

Some people are absolutely obsessed to a frightening level with this cardboard stuff............

No doubt. There's some uptight wound up college grads out there. Or maybe college grads with zero sense of humour. Oy.
Looking forward to all the booklet cards nobody wants.

I apologize for the confusion. I wasn't speaking in the manner that hockey cards are more important than a college education. What I was referring to is the state of the economy and the complete lack of job market for college graduates. I, myself, am a college graduate and ended up having to take the step higher and go to law school in order to make myself marketable. Right now college graduates are hitting the workplace and seeing their degree is worth roughly 27k...and that's if they are lucky. The University I attended for law school, perhaps one of the best in the Midwest, the average undergraduate's debt for 4 years with no scholarship comes out to around 100k. The math doesn't line up.

I am originally from Chicago and I have friends 4 years out of college that are on food stamps. That is completely ridiculous. I take the bar exam in July and even graduating in the top 25% of my class all my callbacks from firms are only offering in the 40k-45k salary range. I consider myself lucky...especially for being 26 years old because my friends who have degrees and jobs are being paid hourly.

My statement was merely what was supposed to be a crack at the miserably saturated job economy. I am sorry this went so off topic.

Take it into current economic context where the unemployment rate in the US is nearing 10% and only 18,000 jobs were created in the month of June, what he said ain't untrue.. Those new jobs don't even cover the amount of young 'uns who graduated from college or university. Not even close. There is some scary crap going on down there and I'm afraid we ain't seen the worst of it yet.

But stay in school, kids! At least if you don't make it out with a job, you hopefully won't wait too long with a diploma in hand.

lol. actually he might have a point depending on where you obtained your college degree from. but never underestimate the power of profit from cardboard, it helped payed off all my tuition for a university degree and a nice ride from 2010.

never thought i'd say this, but at this given point in time, I think hockey cards have more value than a college degree. lol

And I'll be busting neither, because why waste my $350 when I can just buy singles I want for a fraction of the price
