    Dominion Delayed?

From my understanding, Dominion is scheduled to release on the 7/27, but blowout has it's release as 9/7... more than a month later. has it been delayed until September?

I saw August 31st as the tentative release date for Dominion. Normally, I would be disappointed with the dely, but I have been buying up Luxury Suite and Zenith singles, so I don't mind waiting for Dominion until I have a little more cash.

Oh, I haven't heard anything about that when I was talking to Tracy the other night. Maybe it was just announced? If so, that date is after The Cup...I wonder why the delay? Too many redemptions?

If the reason is too many redemption cards then the delay is definitely acceptable. Would be really nice if Panini hammered this product out as a complete product.

I completely agree that a delay is fine in my eyes if they are hammering out getting more live autographs. From what I've seen the cards are made, but it looks like everything may need to be hand signed. So I'm guessing it's a redemption issue.

Being delayed till early September, this could be a huge moment for Panini in regards to their hockey products and how hockey collectors view them. If they nail this product and it is complete and it goes pound for pound with The Cup, it could be a HUGE boost for Panini. But if it tanks and does not do well and is not a complete product (i.e. a ton of redemptions and bad collation) it could potentially be blood in the water for Panini hockey products.

The official street date is Aug. 31, and that date was selected in conjunction with the NHLPA. The delay, as many surmised, was to give us extra time to get as many autos into packs as possible. Clint and I were committed to using only hard-signed cards in the product, but that's not a commitment without challenges. One thing we've learned is that there's never a good time for some guys to sign. In-season, they're busy. Off-season, they're vacationing. You just have to try to give them as much time as possible and hope for the best. We expect that there will still be some redemptions--that's unavoidable when you're dealing with dual, triple and quad hard-signed cards, but we believe the extra time will minimize their presence.
And as far as collation goes, every box of Dominion will be hand-collated.
