Hi all, do the think the goverment should step in and stop these company's for lowing your tax bill, you know the ones you see on TV ( I owed 55000.oo in taxes and settled for 2500.)
if people pay there taxes,, would the gov be better off, or would they use that money for pet projects

I can assure you that the IRS is in the tax collection, not the tax settlement, business. Those advertisements are extreme cases only.

so these company are using the ((gray area)) of the tax laws to bail them out, or they find some Gov run program to do it for them

I imagine they get settlements for people who are actually assessed for taxes that they do not owe.
