Scholarship to Honor Rangers' Boogaard
The Rangers on Wednesday announced they had established the Derek Boogaard Youth Hockey Scholarship to honor Boogaard, the late Rangers forward who died in May. The program will work with the "Defending the Blue Line" organization, which was created by soldiers and makes hockey accessible to the children of military personnel. Boogaard supported the organization during last season.
The Rangers will present two scholarships for Ranger hockey camps, held from July 18-22.

its nice that they're creating scholarships but should they really have a scholarship for youths named after a player that overdosed from painkillers and alcohol?
