Should the nba change it's draft rules?
If you could change the nba draft rules, would you and what would you change them to?

I couldn't get the link to open, but I assume it has something to do with the mandatory 1 year of college before being eligible for the draft, yes? I never saw the need for that. If they are ready after HS, then they are ready. If they want to risk flopping in the NBA and having no education to fall back on, then they are old enough to make that choice. Requiring the 1 year has NOTHING to do with making sure the kids get an education first. If that was the point then they would require 4 years or a degree. No it is all about feeding the NCAA money machine and making sure they get a piece of the top talent before they go to the NBA.

I think that no one should be forced to go to college who dosen't want to be there and taking a scholarship from someone who really want/needs it. My idea would be to let anyone with a HS diploma who wants to enter the nba draft. However if you are not atleast a jr in college and are not drafted in the 1st round you cannot enter the nba that year. You either have to go back to college or play overseas that year. Also whenever you do enter the nba you get more on your first contract based on how much college experience you have. Just like in the real world you get more money if you have a degree so will you in the nba. That way no one is stopped from making a living in the nba whenever they are ready to but there is a financial incentive to stay in college and work towards a degree. What do you think?

I would love to see the same rules as football... not because I think it is necessary but I would love to see good college matchups with the best of the best instead of the watered down product we get now.... Although I think the 1 years hurts more than it helps as the big names in the big games are not 4 year players.. they are guys who passed 4 classes and are headed to the NBA
