    Question Registered mail Problem

    Hey

So I sent a package to the US 2 weeks ago. It arrived and the person i sent it to, picked it up. the only way I know this was because he told me. I look back and I look at the tracking and it hasnt been updated since July 6!! It still says: international shipment has arrived in destination country. Nothing after that...

Okay, obviously i am really appreciative that the person told me that he got his package because I would not have known. Do you think I should phone and complain to them..?
It seems ridiculous that I just spent $15 and they've havent updated it since July 6. I guess I should have just saved $15 and spent it on regular mail instead? Because that woulda been just as fast. Also, I just want to point out that I mailed another package to this person, regular mail and he got it at the same time he got my registered mail package. I mailed the regular mail package 1 week later. So I guess I should just send regular mail next time?

    Cheers,
    Andrew

I only have experience with USPS, not Canada Post. With the USPS, registered mail is slower than regular mail because the package is handled more securely. It's also unreliable to check delivery status online but you can pay extra for delivery confirmation and/or return receipt, which are more reliable ways to confirm delivery.

problem with USPS tracking is that it is not always scanned. so at each stop it is not updated on the website.

happens quite often in my experience where the person has the package but the site is not updated.

right unless its scanned at each stop it wont update regularly...regular mail is much faster because it doesn't have to be scanned multiple times and handled by more people

I know I had troubles once when sending with tracking. After I filled out the info on the Express Post envelope, the lady forgot to scan it to log it into the tracking system. Whenever I tried track the package, nothing came up. Once I called Canada Post, they said that since the package wasn`t logged into the system from the start, it wouldn't show up everytime someone else went to scan it along its route.

Thank goodness, the person also told me they got the package. I have sent with tracking a few times but this was the only case where I had troubles.
