    Alex Smith - Outcome Prediction

So, does anyone else feel a flop coming on? I think he will be.

    Flop
    Bigger contract than Eli
    Worse team than Eli

    Not
Doesn't have all the hype since he isn't related to a superstar

I'm not gonna pretend like I know anything at all about his college days, because I don't like to watch amateur/college sports. I just have this feeling and I know I won't accept any trades for him in my fantasy leagues.

Now, for you hardcore Giants/Eli fans that may get mad at me calling him a flop and say things like "It's only his first year!", stop being so dillusional. He threw a pass to Kurt Warner for god's sake.

Who's with me? Who's against me? Let's get something going here.

PS: By flop I mean not putting up the numbers he's getting paid to put up for this season only, not his long-term future.

Just answered a post in the Footbal Card Forum basically summng up my feelings about Smith. I don't think he'll be an absolute bust, but I can't see him being much more than an average QB.

As for Eli, I think you're completely wrong about him. He did look pretty bad to start off with(against some of the league's best defenses), but showed a lot to end the year. He looked great against the Bengals, Cowboys, and Steelers. He even looked pretty good for a guy making his first start against the Falcons showing a lot against a great pass rushing team. He didn't have much help last year with average WRs, a TE who dropped half his passes(even though I loved watching him at UM), and a line that didn't help matters either. Tiki Barber was the only bright spot. I expect Eli to make more strides this year and show all the people who are ignorant to his talent that he is a lot more than Peyton's little brother or Archie's son. He looked better than Mike Vick or Carson Palmer did in their rookie years....

And for the record I'm a Bucs fan, not a delusional Giants fanboy :)
