    By set or by player?

I'm sure there are a lot of collectors out there like me with too many base/inserts to keep up with. My question is, should you organize them by set or by player? Some members on here have lists and lists of all the players they have in their inventory and send the lists out to collectors of that certain player. But then, what if someone asks if you have any, say, 10/11 Pinnacle base cards to help me finish my set? How on earth do you search through ALL 200 of the possible players looking for 1 card that you're not even sure will be there? I always have this dilemma and usually end up doing it by set (less stacks).

    Thanks,
    Cam

I have mine organized by Player, when somebody wants a bunch of cards from a set, and only lists the card number and not the player name, it makes it very difficult to help out.

I have mine sorted by player...I also have all of my cards in the SCF Inventory. Makes it pretty easy to keep track and look for cards. Then I only have to search by name in my boxes.

Year and set here also. Seems like most people put their wantlists up that way.

I do the same. I am getting close to 20,000 cards in it.

In boxes, I have them by year, set, and then numerical order.
