paralell question/idea/suggestion
so for paralells, do companies ever change the colours on a year to year basis.
for 2010 for example there was a bronze, purple blue, and red paralell in crown royale.
in 2011/2012, they should change it and have a bronze /100, a yellow /25 green/10, and black /1
i think it would increase the popularity for colectors who collected in 2010, and they would still do so in 2011.
thats is my suggestion, i dont know if this actually happens or not.
also crown royale was just an example, all sets should do this.

I think too many parallels suck and are a nightmare for player collectors. See Certified, and Luxury Suite, and Artifacts

This is not Crown Royale's First Rodeo.
Their parallels have changed from first launch in 1997-98, so have many other parallels under the Pacific Banner.
Switching around and mixing up the colours extends the brand across the board, it does create some confusion to the uninitiated, but sharpens awareness of the brand.
Some of the early Crown Royale Parallels of the late 90's and 2,000-2,001 are simply gorgeous. The old CR cards are still the nicest base cards ever produced.

I have to agree with both of these guys. Too many parallels, escpecially increasingly SP and SSP ones, are frustrating for the player collector. If they do have to have parallels, I would like them to keep the colors constant from year to year, to avoid confusion. Changing colors would creat confusion among collectors and buyers. If someone was selling a copper parallel, you'd have to research to find out if copper was SP that year. Having them stay the same, you don't have that problem.
That said. . . Please, less parallels! Panini, I'm looking at you!Hidden Content

Pacific flip-flopped parallels every year throughout many of their brands.
I recall the Paramount Gold Parallel in 98-99 being very short printed, then they turned around and made it the easiest parallel to pull the year in 00-01.

i like paralells lol, but thats probably because im new.
however i already hate paralells from products other than crown, and victory.
i am not a player collector, so i cant really comment on that, but i can say that as for changing, i meant more add a color or something and get rid of one to add something to chase, but not add to the amount of paralells in the set.

I wouldn't mind a little bit of variation from year-to-year on parallels. It keeps things fresh.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...
