Be careful with them on the mini helmet and allow them to dry VERY well. I had Chris Samuels sign my Redskins mini helmet with the gold SRX marker and I accidentally wiped part of it off even after it had over 1 minute to dry. It was the only time I had ever had this happen. I completely wiped it off after that and approached him to get it signed again but in silver. He gladly did it and it looks great!

The SRX markers are incredible. I used my gold one when I got Ryno IP. I once tried silver sharpies...but they are terrible and wipe clean. Stick with the SRX. Anyway, the Ryno: I got it signed in gold and it looks fantastic...not smearing, no bleeding...nothing!

    That said.

Double check the marker before you use it. I 'tested' the silver and the gold on a piece of garbage photo paper to make sure they would be suitable. My silver marker actually was split a little at the tip and didn't write too well (was coming out super thick).

I love blue/black Sharpies for cards and photos that would look best in them. But silver Sharpies are well below a silver SRX marker (at least in my opinion).

Thinking of buying a Colts mini to send out to someone. Including a black sharpie with it will be bad why?... Never had a mini helmet or gotten one signed before so I have no clue with this stuff.

I just use paint pens on minis instead of sharpies because I just like being sure it doesn't fade...

Sharpies will fade? Those pictures of the markers on the previous page seem like they are only in like bright colors. Personally, I prefer darker colors like black, blue, or even silver. Do those SRX markers come in those colors?

When I was at Eagles training camp today I had a paint pen and a silver sharpie. I got one mini signed in paint pen and it was kind of faded and one signed in regular sharpie and it looked great. I have other minis that I have gotten signed in silver sharpie years ago that still haven't faded.

I know this kind of contradicts what I said before earlier in this thread, but I had a sharpie paint pen so that may be why the helmet came out so-so.

Guess its just me. I've had quite a few minis signed back in the day in blue and black sharpie, and they've faded really badly for me...

Lol. I'm seeing more people go with the paint pen, so I'll go grab one of those. Thanks for the help guys.
