    Getting back to collecting

I'd like to start collecting baseball cards again. Looking to get into the 2011 series. What are my best options(good inserts and value in the cards for best prices) and what brands are there in baseball cards today?

Agreed. Bowman is a great start, but there are not many veterans. For veterans look at products like Topps Sterling, Ultimate Collection, Upper Deck Black, or Sp Authentic.

    Bowman for the best value
Allen and Ginter is a great set for collectors - for resellers, its pretty standard..maybe below average because of the excessive replica inserts. But if you're lucky enough to pull a decent auto they sell like hot cakes on ebay

    Sterling is nice but expensive
    I like the new platinum

I'd go for Topps myself. Not too pricey, good combination of rookies and stars, some legends. Usually get a good hit every now and then, plus all the cool inserts. Welcome back!
