dryden
Im sure this topic has been posted before, but does he not sign? There are 0 certified autos on ebay. I cant even find a legit cut auto. Very few memorbilia cards as well. Just wondering if he wants to keep his name out of the mainstream or what. ?

He has zero interest in the hockey card market, and doesn't want people to be profiteering off his name. During his time as a Member of Parliament, if you sent something in to his office he would sign it and add your name to it as well. Cool personalization, but also done to deter re-selling.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Off the bat, I can tell you that at least one ITG Dryden cut auto exists. It was made by ITG for a Made to Order card.
I can also tell you that Dryden does have a certified auto, but you have to go back to the 90's to find it:
http://www.1972summitseries.com/fc.html
Watch out for fakes. The official one is signed in gold ink and has a "swirl pattern" on top of it (like a fingerprint).
You can see all of the official Dryden autographs, cut or otherwise in the SCf inventory system:
https://www.sportscardforum.com/scf/inv/cardlist/
Just do a search for Playname "Dryden" and check off the box next to "auto" and you'll come away with a list of about 14 released autographs.
+1 to what RGM81 said and while its hard to find a certified auto, its not all that difficult to find a signed book, or official letter or document. If you want an item of his signed with a Montreal canadien's Logo though, you'll be hard pressed to find one "certified".
Cheers,
reoddai

Be sure also to check out CoolHandLuke's personal collection. He's got a lot of great-looking Dryden cards, including the Superlative Cut Signature 1/1.

the best part about collecting Dryden, up until a couple years ago, was that you could conceivably collect EVERYTHING. Then along came ITG..........

No you couldn't. Lol. UD had to remove Dryden's Retro card from the 99-00 UD Retro Set because they did not have express written permission from Dryden himself, and the NHLPA was not giving Dryden any money to use his likeness, neither was UD.
Dryden has been adamant about not using his likeness, his signature, and his items for other people's personal gain. He has been this way since he retired from the NHL.
If he agreed to do a deal with ITGU, then that is his business, but to say that everything of Dryden's was available is not even close to the truth, and that ITG had something to do with unavailability of Dryden items, is a complete falsehood.

I respect him for how he handles it. Although I would love to have an auto'd item from him, I think his scarcity makes him more coveted than all other superstar status players.

Ken Dryden should be the NHL Commissioner. Not moving him into the job when Clarence Campbell retired, then also moving the NHL Head Office from Toronto to New York was a huge mistake.

Ok well THAT'S not what I was trying to say at all........First off, Dryden never agreed to any deal with anyone at ITG, that's why all of the memorabilia and auto cards have no pics of him.
And secondly, when did I say that ITG was "responsible" for no new Dryden cards before they started with the 1/1 auto in 2007/08 Superlative??? I MEANT that up until 2007/08, there was a finite list of Dryden cards, from his 1969 Swedish pre-RC up to the 1999/00 UD Retro cards and the Century Legends non-card. Those plus the odd European issue, and that was it. Complete.
But nowwwwww there are a whole bunch of GU pad and stick cards, a couple of 1/1 autos, and NONE of them even have a picture. One has a picture of his mask. That one's pretty cool.
S'all I meant.........
