    Feeling really disappointed...

I've missed out on both Quinton Howden 1/1s by one bid (because they came up in the middle of the night here).

I suddenly find today that the same bloke is now reselling the cards together as one lot, for $350, when he paid $80 for them.

There's no way I could afford that, neither would I pay it anyway for various reasons. However, I don't know what a reasonable offer would be.

I have no specific problem with 'flipping' but that does seen a little excessive. So much for my new Howden PC :(

Well sorry to hear you missed the auctions but that the nature of the beast of card flipping and ebay. It not been a hobby for a long time for the majority of folks in this hobby today. Just remember like most folks he will get tired of holding onto them for a long time and his buy it now for 350 is just a ruse to get someone to put a high bid on the item. Good luck on whatever you decide to do. Off to the show.

you can still make an offer of what seems fair to you and the absolute worst that can happen is he says no...try it or you'll never find out

Interestingly we're actually in discussion as to WHY I want them - err...because I collect them?!

I feel your pain. I recently lost a duchene draft board, sold for $160. It is now up for re-sell for $350!

    Good luck!

a big reason why don't go after 1/1's for my player pc's! A lot of people charge way more then they should for 1/1's or low numbered cards because they can control the price. I have seen some low numbered cards I want for my PC sit on ebay and never sell because they are priced way too high.

It looks like he just buys cards of prospects to flip them. Typical that one of mine is on that list! Funnily enough, when I missed the second one, I was absolutely kicking myself and had a really weird feeling about it. Lo and behold...

I consider myself lucky to have got hold of a couple of other nice low-numbered cards, but the frustration of seeing that happen is unbelievable.

Now I know why I end up collecting the Oleszs of this world - as soon as I go for anyone with more potential, stuff like this starts ROFL
