Please Help With A Situation...Thoughts?
Hello fellow collectors...I have ran into a situation that I'm curious if anyone else has encountered in their tradings here or elsewhere. I recently sold 2 baseballs to another collector through this site that I will not name until the situation is resolved. First of all, there were tons of back and forth communication and negotiation that went extremely well and we both agreed on a price. The guy immediately sends me payment through paypal. I ask him if he would like me to post the trade and he has no real interest so I don't suspect anything the wiser. I send the baseballs out and he receives...we both are under the understanding that he is going to get the balls authenticated and if for some reason they don't pass I will happily refund his money (I personally have seen these 2 balls signed so I am supremely confident they will but realize sometimes psa makes mistakes). So 3 weeks pass and I hear nothing from him until he sends me a message saying 1 ball has passed and the other ball has not passed. So I have him send the ball back to me for the refund but am suspicious now because I know that this ball should have passed. Finally, the baseball comes back today with a rejection notice from PSA...Problem is, completely different autographed baseball. Some of the problems with the baseball...1) ink is black and not blue like I sent and 2) the autograph looks like it might have been autographed by some 10 year old with the same name. It looks nothing like the guys autograph so there is no doubt that it is not legit. I sent him a message back telling him of the problem which I'm waiting to hear back from but I have told him I can compare pics to show him that it is clearly different as I sent him a clear pic ahead of time of what he was getting. Has anyone encountered this and what the heck should I do here? I'm trying to protect my reputation and not get scammed by this guy at the same time.

Man that sucks, I hope u resolved this matter I can suggest that when you confirm a trade post the photobucket link of the item been traded, once trade is confirm by both parties you cant change anything on the trade manager, this way if something goes wrong u can prove to the mods what actually was send by you, hope u resolved this matter.

Thanks for the tip, no doubt I will be following strict protocol from here on out. Haven't heard back from him yet but I have the email that I sent to him with the photos of the baseballs I sent. Obviously, if you received the ball he's trying to pass off instead of the one I sent him in the picture, you would have had a problem immediately. Just very interested to hear his response back and pretty much looking to see if anyone else has ran into this problem at all, or if anyone has any advice into how to proceed with the problem from here on out.
