    What are the odds?

Is it bad to buy boxes from couple years back? Are the odds worst than current year or same? I wanna buy old year boxes to pull some rookies.

A few years should not matter. Your pull rates will be roughly the same. It's only if you go back to the mid-1990s, then the insertion rates aren't so good & there aren't any GU or AUTO.
Just remember to pick 'hobby' over 'retail', as you learned in another one of your posts.

Yes, always go for hobby. Also, your odds should not change at all..... your chances of pulling a RC from the first pack will be the same as if you opened the last pack in production. Just my opinion
