Question: How Much Does The Jersey Number Matching Serial Number Increase BV

Still getting use to the hobby, but how much does this really effect BV if at all. Or is this more of a thing that a PC of the player looks for. Thanks!

Good question...one that each person can answer. Personally, I don't care that any Ryan Miller cards I have are 30/XXX....or Perrault is 11/xxx makes no difference to me. But to the people that it does matter to...SELL TO THEM!!! That is what I did!

    Personally, I don't care

I agree, the card serial # matching the player's sweater # doesn't matter to me in the least. Some collectors look for it, though, so it's something to consider when selling. When buying, don't be fooled by the "it's a 1/1!!" b.s. because it just isn't true (unless the player's number IS 1).

It depends on the product, the card, and the player.

If you're talking about 2005-06 The Cup Alexander Ovechkin #08/99 yeah you can expect a pretty hefty premium to be placed on such a card.

If you're talking about 2010-11 Donruss Boys of Winter Threads Prime Steve Valiquette #40/100, probably not going to be too much of a bump there.

I've got a small handful of #31/xxx and such in my collection. They are fun for what they are but I don't think I paid more than I would have for #38/xxx of the same card. Might have just lucked out, though. LOL

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

That about sums it up. Of course, if it's something you like, it's a neat PC to go after, just incredibly difficult.

Depends on the collector, right? Some go for 1/xxx, some go for the Final card in the series, and others like to pick up the players JSY #.

Put me down on the list of not giving a damn...
