    '95 & '96 Edge Refractors

    Still unpacking boxes :)

Today, I busted into a box that has '95 & '96 Edge Football cards. This box also contains over 200 refractors, including Aikman, Favre, Elway, Barry Sanders, Rhett, Irvin, Terrell Davis, Marshall Faulk, Emmitt Smith and Terry Kirby.

Since I am relatively new to this, are refractors worth more than regular, non-refracted, cards? There are both kinds in these sets, meaning a "regular" Favre and a refracted Favre. Are refractors a higher demand card?

Thanks in advance for the info!

Refractors have lost their luster to collectors over the last few years, but there are some folks still very interested in them. Maybe a player collector, team collector, etc.
They are a higher BV than the regular issues, but some sets/years there is little difference (2 I can think of right now are the 96 Bowman's Best and 97 Bowman's Best). Even if they have a BV of let's say $40, you would be lucky to pull in maybe $4-$7 for it ...$10 and a little higher for stars like Barry Sanders/Favre/etc. I should also add that this doesn't count for RC's refractors...they can get pretty high. I know the Ray lewis 1996 Bowman's Best refractor was selling very well at one point. Your best bet is to go to Ebay and put in refractor (don't add an "s" at the end) and then go to completed auctions. That will pretty much give you an idea of what they are selling at. The newer refractors/Chrome refractors/RC refractors I think do the best.

I have a few I am always looking for. If you have any of the following, PLMK and maybe we can work something out for them. Here is the list:

    Errict Rhett

    1995 Finest Refractor #21
    1996 Bowman's Best Refractor #111
    1996 Bowman's Best Atomic Refractor #111
    1997 Bowman's Best Atomic Refractor #53
    1998 Bowman's Best Atomic Refractor/100 #94

The above is just my opinion...I could be totally wrong, I can just go from my own observations :)

Anyways, if you have any of those Rhett's I listed PLMK.

    Peace~

Thanks, folks. I'm pretty darn new at this, and with the volume of cards I have I am learning fast.

If you don't mind yet another question, what is the difference between a "refractor" and a "prisim"?
