Rick Rypien found dead in his home
Terrible news coming out of Vancouver on Monday night as NHL forward Rick Rypien has been found dead in his home according to James Mirtle of the Globe and Mail.
Rypien, perhaps best known for his role as an enforcer and one of the toughest fighters in the league, spent parts of six seasons in the NHL, all with the Vancouver Canucks, and scored nine goals in 119 games. He also took part in 28 regular season fights in the NHL, as well as many more in the preseason, playoffs and in the minor leagues according to Hockeyfights.com.

I was just about to post a link to the article and you beat me to it. Story just went up 3 minutes ago and I wasn't the first to post it here. Are we on the ball or what.
A terrible story, a terrible summer overall when you factor in Boogaard's death earlier as well. Just so sad when these young guys are found dead well before they should have gone.

Just read this on a friend's facebook status and read the article on TSN. Very sad news whever something like this happens. My thoughts go out to his family!

Wow, was not expecting to hear that. He was a great enforcer, just picked up my first auto of him last night. Thoughts to the family for sure, I cant believe it..

RIP Rypien, i havent seen the fans of Vancouver get out of their seats so quickly since Pavel Bure
Maybe with Rypien in the lineup they Finals would have gone differently. Would have loved to see if Thomas decided to "play goal" outside the crease on Rypien instead of Henrik =PLast edited by canucksfan007; 08-16-2011 at 02:44 AM.
