How can you be slaggin DH off for his offense ? Last season the man is gettin 22 ppg, does it matter how he gets them ? Whats the difference between 22 points from dunks or 22 points from mid range jumpers or 3's ? Non, the fact of the matter is that orlando get an extra 22 points on the board .... Plus his defense which is the best in the league .... How much better does he need to be ?

Actually, I thought he made great improvements to his low post game and short-range jumper last season. His biggest problem, not including free throws, has historically been that he wasn't very effective unless he was right under the basket. But I definitely saw him extending his range recently, and if he can do that, he's MVP material for sure. At least, he will be when everyone stops sucking the LeBron thumb so much.

Also forgot to mention those 90s guys also had some level of college experience where it is much easier to develop a post game since the in-game reps come much more frequently and the curve isn't as steep. In the pros, it's not that easy and even harder when your team is #1 in launching 3s. Now if Dwight hadn't made any strides whatsoever in his offensive game you have a point. But unless you missed last season there was a ton of visible improvements including the jumper and running hook. I can't defend his FT shooting but you can't possibly hate a guy for dunking or put backs when that is fundamentally what you want a big to do....Beat his guy to the rim, establish good position and follow up shots.
On the subject, his cards aren't in demand because of Panini. I know they weren't around but I bet I get a witness

I watched every Magic game for the past several years and your comment makes it clear you have not really been watching Dwight play. The guy has improved on his offensive game 5 fold. He is shooting bank shots from 15 feet away and making them now for God sakes. His baby hooks are sweet as can be now. Can't believe you would complain about him getting most of his points at the FT line when guys like MJ, Kobe, and Rose have made a living there.

How long has Ewing been there teaching him? All he has is a hook shot? There's no comparison to Shaq, that man was a beast in the post, I have no problem with Shaq, he knew what he was doing down low.
All this is, is my preference for watching basketball, I don't care to watch him. Obviously, it doesnt matter how you get your points, Eddie House would rather shoot a jump shot than attempt a lay up, same 2 points. All I'm talking about here is my personal preference. Also, I never denied his defensive game, I credited him for it even, did you miss that?
I didn't watch much Magic games last season and I'll have to take your word for it. If he's attempting jumpers in games, hey, I'm happy for the guy, practice makes perfect. I guess we feel the same about LeBum..
Ok those guy's went to college but Andrew Bynum didn't and he has a very respectable post game. Like the previous poster said about him improving this season with perimeter shots, thats great. As for dunks and put backs, of course I won't hate on him for that, I just dislike it. I'd rather watch Tim Duncan play basketball than him, basically. It's just preference, I don't like the way DH plays is all. Am I not allowed to dislike him?
I would hope he's improved his "game" 5 fold since he's been in the league, he was drafted in 2004, right? Wow, he's shooting bank shots now? I didn't know, all the previous guy's just said perimeter shots, I give you've been watching more than they have. But thats great if Dwight is attempting perimeter bank shots, kudos.
But when did I complain about him getting points at the free throw line? I don't remember that...

You can dislike who you please. As evident by the amount of replies you had to address, your reasonings are off....
On the subject of Bynum, I have only seen flashes because the guy seems to always be hurt. Consider the teacher though. Ewing was a good center but no one claimed he was the best teacher. I would put Clifford Ray ahead of Ewing by far. Kareem has been begging to coach and happens to be miles better than Ewing when it comes to post play. Dwight has one summer with Hakeem and he improves drastically. Hakeem even cosigns for the guy to get more touches. Again, in an offense that's #1 in launching 3s.Last edited by cgb_orl; 08-20-2011 at 10:56 AM.
