    NBA 2K12 Preview

Let me start by saying I haven't been into video games since Double Dribble. This game looks intriguing for us older fans, though. I just wonder if they dumbed down the controls enough for us to try them out.

Here is a review over on ESPN.com. Legends, with their classic teams, playing against classic opponents. Here's a game I'm willing to try.

That is mad! More games and fun to fill the void during the lock-out.

Make sure you set it to rookie mode when you get it. My last NBA game was NBA2k7 on PS2 (put in 60+ hours) before I tried 2k11 on xbox and it took me a while to get used to the pro (default?) mode.

Don't do full court pass, don't assume D Howard can pass like Stockton, don't shoot lots of crazy shots and most importantly, don't assume you can use Jordan and dunk on everyone else.

Ah I liked last year's game and am still playing it, but was sad that the roster was limited (unlike some previous years where there were all star teams from different era's). But this year's looks pretty fun; I'll probably wait until 2k13 to come out before I buy this one though.

Thanks for the tip. I'll revisit this around Christmas when I tell my wife I want a new game console and this game.

Yeah basketball games are for sure different the last couple of years, they're a lot more realistic, no more jacking up 3's and driving on everyone thinking you're going to score everytime haha. I still remember playing nba live 2003 with my friends and putting 3 of our friends in the 100 point club a couple times (scoring 100 pts with 1 player on them in a game) and I was doing it with Joe Johnson with the Suns before he was even good. At least they're having more players than what was anticipated, everyone was thinking it was going to be a Jordan, Bird, Magic thing like how they did the Jordan Challenge in 2k11.
