Palm Beach Autographs - Be Careful
I like to give shout outs to great people or companies I've dealt with, but I also like to tell stories of the opposite kind. Awhile back I purchased 4 8X10s from Palm Beach Autographs. They ran a sale for 7 dollar signed 8X10s. The players were marginal players, but I picked up 4 for my St. Louis Cardinal collection. I was happy with the price, although shipping was horrible at 14 bucks!
I received my order fairly quickly, but one of the photos looked pretty bad. It wasn't a certified photo of the player that they had signed; it was obvious it was ameature. No problems, but the photo probably shouldn't have been printed out in 8X10. It was grainy and pixalated. It didn't look good.
I emailed the company and got a quick response. So far everything was going well. The company offered to "swap" it out for another photo. The sale was no longer going one, so I replied back and asked them which photos I could get back. I heard nothing. I waited a week and emailed again. No response. After 4 attempts I called the company.
The man I talked to was pleasant enough. I told him my story and he offered to replace it once they recieved their photo back. Great more money in shipping! We got online together and he showed me 2 different images I could replace it with. One of the photos was an upgrade in price, but he said it was okay since I had to return the first one and I had trouble with them getting back to me.
I shipped back the bad photo and received an email from the first guy I was dealing with. He said he wouldn't send the upgrade because the guy I talked to didn't know the whole story. I informed him he was very much informed with my issue and he offered an upgrade for my trouble. I told him I sent back the first photo because I was assured of the new photo I was getting. I ended my email telling him to do what he thought was fair, but I expected to the receive the photo I was told I was getting over the phone.
Today I received my new signed photo. Not the one I was told over the phone I could get, but a different pixalated, dark, crappy new image.
I believe in fair treatment and good customer service. I won't be doing business with Palm Beach Autographs again. I'm in the process of dealing with another company about a different issue. I hope to soon post a completley different story of a company going above and beyond to staisfy a customer.
Thanks for letting me vent.Last edited by gysot; 08-19-2011 at 04:06 PM.

I would tear it up & throw it in a big PWE with a note telling them to stick this photo along with there customer service ( where the sun dont shine ) & close the letter saying EVERYONE within ear shot will hear about there worthless customer service & grainy pictures..
Cant stand businesses like that. Very un professional.
edit::: oh, I would also tell them in my letter how its clear as the day that there customer satisfaction is very LOW on there priority list. Very easy to tell when they dont have the common courtesy to reply to an email after 4 attempts when they know there is an issue? An email would take a full minute & would put the buyer at some kind of ease that the issue is being resolved!!
I'd let em have it... lolLast edited by Riggs; 08-19-2011 at 03:54 PM.

I had an issue when I ordered my Favre photo from his site and I emailed they got right back to me and fixed the problem. That is how customer service should be.

Haha....I thought about it. The second photo is much better than the first one, but still bad to be selling.
Maybe after reading this someone might steer away from them. Maybe not. To each there own. I feel better after sharing my experience. Karma is a ™™™™™ sometimes.

gysot, I'm kind of surprised to read the problems you had. I ordered a number of items from them and was quite happy with everything I received. Maybe I got lucky. Last night I had to deal with a real jerk from Steiner. His name was Zach and he had Noooooooooo customer service skills! It's the luck of the draw with some of these stores.

worst part about it is they are just sending him something to " hopefully" shut him up. There not trying to make it right, shoot for all he knows, he might have gotten someone elses picture that they sent back because they wasnt happy either.
The 4 emails is what gets me.. they wait, & wait & wait & just hope he will go away. atleast thats what it seemed like to me.
