jsy/patch listings wrong on ebay constantly
is anyone else annoyed by people on ebay constantly saying cards are patches when they are merely jersey swatches at the seem?! why is it that if someone sees 2 colors they automatically think it's a patch. not only that, they probably list it as a patch to get more attention so then they are just liars and scammers.
most constant example is panini's cards that say "prime". that just means it's a jsy seem. i find myself wanting to message them telling them they are wrong and sometimes i do, but nicely. sometimes as a friendly heads up because someone could bid on it and win it thinking it's a patch and get it and be upset.
i don't know, maybe i'm crazy, but it's extremely annoying to keep seeing ebay listings wrong. get a clue!

Well you are correct that people do list them as patches to get more money, but some people may be honestly unaware of what they actually have. Some do it on purpose, others make honest errors. Buyer beware!

i agree with both of you ...for example i opened two cases of luxury suite ( needed to get my head examined on that one ) a ton of dual player cards that said prime were merely jersey's cut at the seam..not the actual patch..that annoy';s me to no end..a patch is a patch is a patch..a jersey a jersey no matter wich way you cut it...

i mean, i wasnt trying to say everyone who does it on ebay is purposely doing it, but even when they get it wrong, it still annoys me. like can you really not tell the difference?? then there are people who actually list it as a "patch" to try to get more bids.

That's one of my pet peeves, I can't stand when people list Jersey cards as Patches, even more so when it's a plain white jersey piece. I don't mind so much if it's a Panini Prime but otherwise it annoys me.

I think of it as being the usual very uneducated ebayer that doesn't belong to a trading forum, and doesn't read up on what is it about what they are trying to sell.
Ignorance is bliss sometimes, and you just have to gauge out there in ebay world, who knows what their stuff really is, and if they have an information source(such as SCF) to properly advertise their wares.
Otherwise... Bid accordingly! :)Searching for: Jagr, Palffy, Stumpel, and Boyd

Prime just means multi colour... but in most cases Prime is designated for jersey pieces.

I prefer the patch/jersey swap to the "eBay 1/1's" though!
