first thought: becketts values should not be used for what a card will sell for, they have been off for so long it really is irrelevant and i havent used their "values" for years. i laugh when people quote me book values
also, on a set that is 7 years old shouldnt be surprised if one of the rare ones sells for more than you would think, there are other set builders and on older sets they dont show up as often. i would say keep with it though, some really nice autos

Do not look at BV. Completly useless.
All you have to do is ask yourself if you wanna pay that high for that card to complete ur set. Nothing else matter.

It seems like every set has one or a couple of those cards... it's rough!
I've been looking for an 06/07 Ultimate Signatures Jean Beliveau for going on three years now. When they were showing up, they would easily go for 2x-3x Beckett High. I did find one a year ago under "ebay completed sales" with a sold for Best Offer $45. Left me speechless, don't know how I missed it. Haven't seen one since...
While I still look regularly, I'm missing a few others from the set and have already conceded that I will likely never complete the set...

its always going to happen with those autos sets, example the 06-07 Parkhurst Beliveau just surfaced on auction and sold for a rediculous amount, i cant remember what it was but over 600$. Even game jersey sets, everyone remembers the 08-09 SPGU Authentic Fabrics Afinogenov, a few surfaced and all sold for over 100$, even with just plain white swatches. A nice old auto set like that though, if you have it almost complete i would say stick with it. Even if you have to pay 100$+ for the Lindros, just think of the value of the complete set once you have it finished. If you wanted to move it then just imagine the price you could sell it for. Keep it going! Everyone would love to see you finish it for sure!

I would have to agree. I would keep on trucking, and when the opportunity shows up. Drop a little more $$$ to get em. Especially with cards that don't show up too often, you will likely have to duke it out with somebody that's been keeping an eye out for the same thing, but in the end is worth completing a cool set.

I am doing the 06-07 parkhurst set and most of the ones I needed just sold for 2-3x the list. I got 1 out of the 10 I need and paid double.....what we do as set builders. Keep at it.

With only being two cards away from a complete set, you're almost committed to completing the set at this point. I agree with what everyone else is saying about book values being useless, especially in regard to hard to find cards such as the Lindros. Best of luck to you.

I've never been able to figure out why Lindros Autos always sell at a premium. You simply cannot give any of his other cards away, and the guy is as far from the HOF as I am.
Dumbfounded as to why people will pay more than $5.00 for a Lindros autographed card.
