over pricing? over waiting?

for example, seller has the card listed for 300 buy it now/BO..The auction has been up since early 09. The card sold around 50-70 when demand was high/new, i put an offer of 75 today and the offer was declined within a few hours. Seller didnt even counter offer. Ive had the only offer in 3 years. I can see a rare card for a set after a year or two, but 3 years? the set collectors have probably moved on. Will this last for 3 more years plus? I dont need the card, i simply wanted it for my collection and was willing to over pay a little if he counter offered but they seemed to not want to deal with me. Im not offering 10 dollars on a 50 dollar card, im offering above what they went for!

Some sellers just dont care about the market and always want the highest rediculous prices. Like I said i paid once for a card only because it was 1/1 and i had to pay 260$ for a card that would sell 80 - 100$ on auction. I just wanted it so bad that i caved, and let the hobby control me. But you will always get people like that in this hobby, that have no care or respect for anyone but thereselves. They would rather get the extra 50 or 60$ in your case then actually help you out and get a nice card into your PC. I know it sucks alot, but theres not much we can really do

That's just funny.
Unfortunately for all of us, it's the right of someone who owns a card (or anything) to ask any price they want, whether it's fair or ridiculous.
Hopefully people will stop caving and paying so much and these guys will be left with a bunch of cardboard they can't move.

Ultimately, unless it's a 1/1 card, another copy will likely show up on the 'Bay or on a card forum eventually. Just depends how patient you are..?
