Florida Marlins hotel thread- Hanley? Stanton?
Trying for the Marlins this weekend @ their hotel for the first time in months hotel graphing. Those 2 are really the only ones I want on the whole team, do I stand any chance?
Do you think it would be best to get there pregame, postgame or when the team first arrives for the road trip on Thursday night for a Friday series?

Cyberer, you never know with those guys. Stanton has always been pretty good IP but now that he's getting so much attention for hitting HRs, he could get a little tougher. Hanley may not even be with the team because he is doing rehab for his shoulder at their ST park in Jupiter, Fl. But hey, you got Greg Dobbs (ex-Phillie!) who will sign and so does John Buck. Unfortunately, the Marlins are pretty much a AAA team and yes, they are my "home team" so I know them real well...

Just finished up with the Marlins actually. Stanton has been pretty tough lately and is giving a real ****** graph these days, but gives you a less ****** graph if you ask for personalization. Hanley might not even be there...

Stanton is tough? Does he still sign every time almost and gives a crappy sig or is he spotty when he signs? Because I'd pretty much only be going for him if Hanley isn't there.

I've graphed the marlins a couple times this year and haven't seen him pick up a pen once FWIW.

It's really too bad if Stanton isn't signing because he is really a nice kid. I was fortunate to get him on a number of customs & balls the past couple of years during ST. He is one big, strong and nice dude. On the other hand, Hanley is just nasty and rude to most people. I'm glad I've gotten Hanley on many items too so I don't even bother with him when he walks right past me in ST... Below is a pic of Stanton when I told him to stop a minute and look up for a pic!

I got Stanton here in San Francisco before a game earlier this year. However, I was the only person he signed for because I was standing alone outside the locker room, and when other people started running over yelling for him, he slid into the locker room haha.

Yeah, he seemed to be cool in the past, but once the spotlight got on him, he became a real ™™™™™™. And look at his graph these days!

Copied from my thread:
"
As we are waiting there we are talking to a cop that is really nice. He asked me if I collect autos. I said yeah. He told me to head over to the 4 seasons since the Marlins were in town and are staying at the Hyatt but got invited to a luxury dinner at the 4 seasons. NOlowryVA and I headed off and thanked him for the tip. We got to the 4 seasons and asked around, no one had any idea what we were talking about. We called around and discovered they were already at the Hyatt about a mile away. We split a cab and were underway.
We hung around the lobby and saw Gaby Sanchez, Javier Vazquez, Greg Dobbs and a few others sitting on the chairs in the lobby. We didn't approach them we bided our time. Finally the guys got up to get into their luxury SUV that they had chartered for the evening. We asked them to graph but they all snubbed us. The bellhop saw us and demanded that we wait across the street. Since they have a private driveway he had some leverage to make us leave. We instead told him we would have a drink at the bar. So we went back into the hotel.
We sat at the bar and watched the Eagles game. My companion saw Annibal Sanchez in the lobby and went out to try to graph him. I didn't go along I waited at the bar. Suddenly a few minutes later the bellhop came into the bar and demanded that I leave since my buddy didn't take no for an answer he said. I was indignant and told him that I did nothing wrong and I was going to call the police (I bluffed him) and that I am not my buddy's keeper. I told him that I told my friend not to go and he wouldn't listen. At least he got Annibal Sanchez.
He wasn't having any of it and threw me out of the hotel and told me to wait across the street. We waited together over there. As we waited, I looked into the lobby and squinted my eyes- I saw a very distinctive haircut (a bit of a mohawk) coming out of the hotel. I'm like ™™™™ that's Mike Stanton!
We called to him from across the street when he came out to get a cab. He didn't listen or look up at us.
Suddenly I saw that the bellhop had his back turned to Stanton and to us as he was hailing a cab. I decided to go for it and walked briskly across the street and made a B line for stanton. The other bellhop told me that this was unacceptable and I had to leave, but I walked right up to Stanton and said "If you could sign my ball it would make my night and then I'll leave, and if you say no then I'll leave anyway."
The bellhops were pretty ™™™™™™ at this point, but Stanton grabbed my ball and signed it on the side panel (I was more worried about getting arrested than asking him to sweet spot). I thanked him a million times and said that he made my night. He said that I was welcome. I told the bellhops that I was leaving now and not to worry. They didn't chase me or call after me or anything, I think they were just really glad that I left.

Unfortunately NOlowryVA wasn't able to get Stanton as he didn't come with me when I went over and by the time he got over, the bellhops were furious and wouldn't let him near.
I'm not really sure what legal trouble you can get in for stuff like this. I imagine even if the cops were to come if you just left and were very polite and obsequious that they wouldn't make a big thing of it.
Anyways I don't make a habit of bucking authority like this, but I was indignant over the way this man treated us. I'm just happy I got in and out and got my graph. All's well that ends well."

Cyberer, good hunting! He pretty much gave you his normal sig. I just looked at all the pics and balls that I have had him sign and they pretty much look the same. He was never in a hurry or rush situation so he could calmly sign my items. Way to go. Good luck when you ever get Hanley with his chicken scratch (HR2) - LOL!
