BAD Cards: Misprints and Miscuts

While sorting, I have found two cards that made me ask you the question of the value of misprint and miscut cards. For example,

* I found a 1989 Donruss w/ Kevin Gross. Says MVP on it. However, there is nothing on the back. No printing. Nothing.

* I found a 1977 Topps Fran Healy. This card is cut in half. You cannot see the top half, the bottom half shows the dotted line of the sheet.

Are these cards worth anything because of their "oddity"?

Hi Sheesh-

The Gross card may have been worth more to a Gross collector quite a few years back, but generally any type of "blank back" error is totally disregarded and seen to be worth less than the regular card.

The Healy would be considered worthless because of the miscut.

These are just my opinions...now you may find a diehard error collector that may be willing to give you a buck or 2 for them, but probably not likely.

There are a few error cards that people still chase, but they are few and far between anymore.

Thank you. I'm so new to this that I have lot's of questions that stem from the many cards I am currently handling. Quite a crash course, I tell ya!

Edit: Rethinking, a bit, does it make sense that these might actually be rare? Of course, rarity doesn't automatically mean value, but how many of these do most folks have in their collections?

Sheesh- I've looked through a whole lot of late 1980s Donruss cards and I've never seen a Gross blank back before. Although it may not be worth very much at all, I'm sure this one is fairly rare.
For the Healy, and for pretty much all miscuts, they may be rare but there are so many miscuts out there that they're pretty disregarded.
