I would never buy boxes off of eBay, unless it is sold from someone such as blowout, D+A, etc.

It really depends who you buy from. You could always try it once and if you don't like it go back to buying at your lcs.

If you're going to spend the money, just buy from somewhere you feel comfortable buying from. There's no point in taking the risk just to save a couple dollars.

I got a Box of 08/09 Topps Murad before they went up in price, I bought it for $49dlvd and pulled a Carmelo box topper Silver parallel #'d 8/10, and then in the last pack pulled a Bill Russell auto #'d 1/25. It was a single box from a seller who didn't ever sell cards, he said he got the box from a friend who didn't know what to do w/ it, so needless to say I was nervous and kicking myself for even buying it...... until I opened it of course. There is good stuff on Ebay, but at the same time I have been burned buying resealed boxes. It's always a risk. I'd say to just buy from one of the many great, legit websites. Good luck.
