Question Power to the people (Of SCF!): Need opinions on a card

I would like to know everyone's thoughts on price regarding a card.

This going to surprise you. It is not about a Black 1/1, Shield, Property Of..., etc, etc.

In fact it is probably one of the least sexy and lowest end pull's in this year's Cup but I am just curious for feedback after getting a funny PM.

I inquired to someone who pulled a Kyle Clifford Cup Rookie Card.

    About the card:

It is similar to this one as far as swatch quality:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/10-11-Cup-Ky...item336b5be9b4

It is autographed, patch and numbered to 249. The patch is a 3 color number or name piece, NOT any crazy Kings logo.

    About the player:

Clifford is a 4th, sometimes 3rd line winger for the Kings.

He will likely never score more than 10-15 goals in the NHL.

I am fairly certain this card will sell for $10-20, maybe on the high end of that this week ($20) and the low end in a few weeks ($10).

The person I asked about said it is a ONE HUNDRED dollar card.

Am I that far off, is he way off, or..............?????????

    Alright, set, GO!

I might give it a couple more bucks then what you are thinking....maybe in the $30-40 range but I am no expert, I just know from trying to get lower end Canucks RC's throughout the years that seems to be an average price.
    $100 is just stupid IMO....
    Just my thoughts.....

Just wait 2 weeks, thats what I'm doing with some of the Bobs, 175 for a Limited Logos???? No freaking way. They will drop about 60% in the next few weeks.

I made that mistake with the Bobrovsky SPGU Exclusives Auto /100. Paid 75 bucks for the first one, they sold for about 30 after a week.

You know how it goes, reason im holding off buying any Leafs from The Cup. Right now it probably will get 70 - 80$ because of the crazy Cup rush. Hold off for a month or 2 and u will get it for 20$. If you look at completed sales, like even Triple Jerseys /25 with Subban on it are selling for 80 - 100$, this time next year how much u wanna bet ull get that same card for 15 - 20$ every time. Brayden Irwins auto rc /199 ill be able to pick up in a few months time for 8 - 10$, guy yesterday wanted 35$, which theres no way I am doing. Gotta just wait out the big rush in my opinion

Whoever said $100 in the poll, that was funny!
    You know why?

That's what the GOLD ARP limited to 13 copies just sold for.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/10-11-CUP-AU...item415cfad6cd

Based on that, how can a card out of 249 with a ho hum patch go above $25?

Are you guys basing this on the card I showed you or Clifford RC's in general?

I mean sure, a premium one with a Kings logo could fetch $70-80 I think but there is nothing special about a name or number swatch.

Anyway, it's fun to debate and love the feedback, especially on a lower end card instead of run of the mill Crosby stuff.

Nino Niederreiter 3 color Cup rookie. One of the better rookies this year, $48.

Clifford shouldn't even touch that price.

Wait until after Christmas, say Jan 15th or so. You will get that card for between $8.00 and $13.00 Bucks.

You may never get it for $10...... but you'll get it for a lot less than that.

I can tell you first hand, I've picked up lots of Cup APR of lesser names over the last few years. This is a $25 card (after the initial rush) tops.

I think last season I bought Dubnyk, O'Marra, and MacDonald off the same guy, and it cost me about $50 total.

(BTW - I still can't explain why Gilbert Brule sells for over $100)
