Collecting Again After 20 Years

Hey, y'all! I haven't really collected cards in a long time, but I recently decided that I would plunge back into the world of collecting. I collected from 1988-1991, and lost my childhood collection in a move. It feels odd not even fully knowing what's going on anymore... I went to a store Labor Day weekend and bought a 1987 Fleer baseball set in a nice binder for $20. I was pretty happy with that. Bought a Beckett, too, if for no other reason than that's what I used to do back in the day. I'm also discovering that they seem to be more hated than they were back in the day, as well. I plan on replacing some of the old sets that I used to have and build from there.

So, what's the custom around here? Am I buyin' a round or what?

You seem to have got a nice deal on that set, especially as it was a childhood set so you can get your memorys back :) And yes beckett is pretty hate in this hobby now, however a few members still trade by BV so its handy to have a copy lying around, although you can get BV from the internet for free ..... most people now trade on SV, and just look at what that card has been selling for in the past on ebay completed listings tool

welcome i am in the same boat i used to collect lost my old cards i think my mom threw away and just got back in because i wanted to get my 2 year old son intrested and got hooked again. I also found a good deal on old cards 20 bucks for several hundred old cards not a full set but it brings back my memories and i am only 25 lol

20 years to catch up, a lot of thing change. First, yes beckett still exist and those who still use it buy usually more a online version because all card list and you can also have new set faster.

Many do not use Beckett BV and tend to use similar sale found on ebay.

I personaly like to use both since some use BV and other ebay. Help no matter what.
