Is Crosby that weak?
Seriously? He "hopes" to play this season? He got a concussion in what, January? 9 months ago? Most football players get concussions week oin and out, and miss maybe one week, two if its terribly severe.. Crosby is such a weak loser.. Some guys in the NFL damn near break a neck with a concussion and miss one-two weeks. Tell me if I'm missing something here

Dude suffered two nasty concussions extremely close to each other. Those hits were significantly worse than even the worst of NFL hits. If you wouldn't mind informing me of the player who almost broke his neck and played within a week or two. Crosby wants to be out there but I'm pretty sure his normal life and future life is more important than playing a game, or proving to NowitzkiFan41 that he's tough enough.

You are.
There's a reason the average NFL career lasts 3.3 years. Concussions aren't something to be taken lightly, as you say it is in the NFL. The effects of a concussion can last a long, long time, or they can go away very quickly.
They can also come back.
I wouldn't doubt if there's a little bit of drama here, but to call him "weak" and a "loser" is way out of line.
P.S. I'm not a fan of his at all.

Concussions arent an issue of toughness. Thats all you're missing. One cannot possibly be compared to another. As somebody who suffered a pretty bad one, I know first hand its no joke.
For the record I'd rather break both of my arms than go through what I did.

A "weak loser", huh? I think he's being intelligent. There's no point in coming back early if he's not ready, one more hit and he could be done for good. I'm guessing you've never had a concussion? They're terrible. We don't even know his whole situation. Why should he prove his "toughness" by returning early?

Yeah, I think you are missing something.
The NFL has this great thing call "non-gaurenteed contracts". It means that when a player is injured, concussion or otherwise, he need to rush back to play as quickly as possible (and just wait for the off season to fully heal) otherwise he might be out of a job.
And yes..... I do realize superstar players might be exempt from the inevitablity of being cut, but that's a select group.
I'd love to hear Troy Aikman's take on concussions. Did he come back one time too many, or just keep coming back a few games too early??
What you're missing is that the tough guy "I'm good to play, coach!" attitude that the vast majority of NHL and NFL players have needs to change. When you've had your brain mashed, you're much better off waiting to heal, instead of rushing back becuase you think you're good enough to play.
