    Alex Smith rookie card question

So, I just bought my first football stuff this year, 6 packs of Classics. The break was crap, and I got no gu or auto, best thing is probably an Alex Smith rookie #/999. I couldn't find this on Beckett, does anyone know what it might be worth? Some people on eBay are selling it with a 39.99 Buy It Now but the bids are very low. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Mike.

    It doesn't book yet.

And just because someone puts a high BIN price doesn't mean it's worth that much. They're just really optimistic.

Really? I thought for sure that this card was worth 40$ because I saw that, that's why I didn't go to any forums and ask for help or anything. I'm not a moron, I've been using eBay a long time and I know what I am doing. Try to lose the mindset that you are a genious and everyone else is an idiot.

I don't think he was calling you an idiot...but these cards were just released and there is no BV yet. The Elite RC's are #'d out of 499 and the Alex Smith books at $80 (but the Alex Smith from that set is also an error, so that enhances it's value). If I had to guess at a price for the Classics RC #/999...i would probably say $30 - $40, just based on other sets. His Upper Deck RC books at $40 and it's not even numbered, so it may be worth more than that...the pricing should be out soon on beckett.com, but in the meantime, based on the other sets that have come out that ARE priced, I would probably say it's worth anywhere from $30 - $60 or somewhere in between.

either way, it's the best RC you could have pulled, value-wise, so you did great :)

Well I'm so sorry you made it sound like you thought BIN's were what that card is worth.

If you don't want help don't ask for it. I try to give help to people who seem to not know about something. You sure didn't sound like you knew.
