Myers, Tavares Close to Signing Long-Term Extensions
McKenzie brings us up to date on the latest news involving the Sabres and Islanders young superstars: http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=375759
New York Islanders forward John Tavares and Buffalo Sabres defenceman Tyler Myers are both on the verge of multi-year contract extensions with their respective teams.
While the deals have not yet been finalized, they are both believed to be in six-year range and worth an annual average of roughly $5.5 million.
Both Tavares and Myers have one year left remaining on their entry-level deals signed in 2009.
Good deals for both players and clubs if this pans out as expected.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

If they are truly in the 5.5 range, take note Drew Doughty camp.
One guy is a former #1 overall pick with solid numbers on a woeful Isles team and the other is a stud young d-man on a rising contender (IMO) with a Calder Trophy on his resume.

Great news, love it when young guys stay put with the team that drafted them. Granted, 5.5 million is nothing to turn your nose at...lol.
