Terry Pegula wasn’t afraid to spend money in his first off-season as owner of the Buffalo Sabres. The natural gas tycoon gave the OK to Christian Ehrhoff’s 10-year, $40 million deal and Ville Leino’s six-year $27 million contract. They also traded for Robyn Regehr and his $8 million in remaining salary and Pegula spent several million on arena upgrades, including a renovated dressing room.
