    help me understand something please

    perhaps this is in the wrong catagory but

    i know that a 89 donruss # 42 randy johnson RC is bv at 5.00
    what difference would it make if the card was rated a G.E.M. mint 10

    and what is the normal multiplier for things like this

    There is a multipier? I traded a BV 15 ripken for BV 15 once, and I didnt even know there was a multiplier..that sucks..

    so a 1962 tom tresh rated (gem 6) RC would be worth what compared to
    the bv of a tresh rookie is 15.00?
    why do people get their cards rated??
