EXTREME Value Pack

My buddy lost a bet on the Houston game last night and as usual we bet $10 worth of cards. I told him to pick me up something on his way back and he grabbed one of those EXTREME Value Packs from Target that have 10 factory sealed MLB packs in them. 2009 Topps Chrome, 2009 Topps Heritage, 2009 Goodwin Champions, and a few packs of Fleer Ultra, but the best was a pack of 2008 Upper Deck X. I really liked the way the cards looked, the die cuts were really neat, the insert with the embossed and extra shiney finish was super cool, and the best? This baby:

It's always cool to hit an auto or GU from those value boxes.

I just really liked the way the UD-X set looks and feels! And since I'm brand new to the hobby still, it's like a brand new product just popped up! Granted, the list of players in the set is pretty crummy in my opinion, and the auto list is pretty blah, but still! I really, REALLY like the set and I'll probably go rummage through the Power Pack section at my Target to see if they have anymore just to see if I can get a Mauer or a Morneau base card.

You might be able to find some packs of Upper Deck X you have a Dollar General or Dollar Tree near you. I've seen packs there before.

i just bought a value box last week and also got an auto out of the UDX pack in it...steve holm, some AAAA catcher for the giants. i've gotten some relics but this was the first auto i've pulled from a pack ever so i was still kinda happy.

i bought one pack of udx last year and it had a brian bixler auto. do they all have them?

I fell in love with the set and started collecting it, plus the $1.59 per pack out of the POWER PACK section at Target is much cheaper than $2.99 for anything current... more bang for my buck plus they're really fun to open with a die cut and an XPonential rainbow card in each pack. I did pull another auto, same guy as above. So if anyone wants to trade their UDx auto for a Frank Catalantano or however you spell his last name, shoot me a PM. :-)
