Question about 2003-04 Private Stock Richter
I am looking for some information about the following two cards:
2003-04 Private Stock 184 Mike Richter
2003-04 Private Stock Retail 184 Mike Richter
The hobby version is listed as an SP by Beckett and is not priced (I assume due to scarcity).
I would like to know if these cards exist and if so, what are the print runs for each. Ultimately, I would love to add them to my collection, but for right now, I am most interested in finding out about them. Any info. you have would be greatly appreciated.

Yes both cards do exist. I have no idea the SP quantity of the Richter or it's number of printings as that is unknown to anyone outside of Pacific production.
I can tell you this about both Richter cards:
1. Definitely a Game-Used Jersey Card, or in this case probably a Patch Card.
2. Hobby Print Run of far less than than #/99. All Rookies in Hobby are #/99 and this card is an SP from the other 72 Game-Used Cards all which have less than 99 made. The number #/34 or #/35 always is a strong one that keeps popping up from 1997-2004 in Pacific SP Productions.
3. Based on the Hobby Print run, the Retail Rookies are #/1299, so that makes the other 72 Game-Used Cards in the SP of less than #/1299. Richter being an SP of much less than #/1299 takes us into the Hundreds.
The text I have on this issue, shows these facts:
2003-04 Private Stock Hobby Box
90 Card Base Set
40 Card Rookie Set - Hobby Rookies #/99
72 Card Game-Used Set starting with Sergei Fedorov at Card #141, with varying numbers of printings but all printed less than the Rookies at #/99
Mike Richter - The only card not listed with a price in the 72 card Game-Used Set, and the only card showing the letters SP.
2003-2004 Private Stock Retail Box
90 Card Base Set
40 Card Rookie Set - Retail Rookies #/1299
72 Card Game-Used Set starting with Sergei Fedorov at cards #141, with varying numbers of printings, but all less than the Rookies at #/1299.
Mike Richter (again) The only card not listed with a price in the 72 Game-Used Set, and the only card showing the letters SP.
To wrap things up. Until you see one for yourself, you will not be able to tell how many were made. I'd suspiciously say probably 34 or 35 in the Hobby Printing, and probably less than 400 in the Retail.
I myself am very certain that both these cards exist. Hope this helps.Last edited by centrehice; 09-21-2011 at 10:29 AM.

At one point I tried to put a set of the jersey cards together, over the course of a year-and-a-half I never saw one up on eBay or at the local card shows. Never EVER. Just sayin............

It may not exist, only the folks from the old days at Pacific would know.
